What the heck is 2210media?

2210media is the personal playground, portfolio and blog of Web Designer Josh Rhame. Where did the name 2210media come from you might ask? Well, here's the short story.

When I enrolled in school to earn a degree in Web Technologies, the first class I took was Web2210. For our final project, we were asked to create a web site incorporating all that we had learned during the semester. The theme of the site was to be business related, to sell a product or service, blah blah. I finally decided on a portfolio piece to showcase my own work. Although the design came easily, all semester I struggled to come up with a suitable name for the project. Finally, in a stroke of genius (or desperation), I decided to steal the class name, 2210media. As some of you may recall, I already had a portfolio on-line known as Solid Torch Studios, but I eventually dropped it and adopted 2210media as my permanent domain name. It fit: innovative, experimental, no fear.

Who am I?

My name is Josh Rhame and I am a freelance Web Designer, Developer, Video Editor, Flash junky, basically an all-around-do-it-yourself type dude. Although I went to school, I am, like most web designers, self-taught. Seeing the sheer volume of teaching material concerning web design, I realized that there is nowhere NEAR enough time in one degree system, let alone a semester, to learn everything about this constantly changing, complex subject. I found early on that it would be up to me to push ahead and learn as much as I could. I continue to open and walk through as many doors as I can find to in order to facilitate the best way to present a subject or product using this vast and far-reaching media tool: the web.
